I’m curious... how is the name pronounced? Does anyone know the phonetic pronunciation? Fook is a lot different than... well, you know.
Says more about the professor than anything else. Maybe she’s cute.

Let her deal with the general public and see how it goes. Just wait until that name in place on a name badge that she wears at work in public. She will be shereaded daily!

Change it to Connie Lingus or Belo Jobs.
Matter cleared.

Phuc Bui is a Vietnamese name.
Use your imagination as to what Phuc could rhyme with in English. Same with Bui.
So we have F*** (Puch) You (Bui)

I wonder what he would have thought of Phuc Dat Bich?

Uhh, I meant to type PHUC instead of Puch in my last sentence. Am I forgiven? Anyway, my wife is Vietnamese.

Not in this brave new world. One wrong pronunciation, even if innocent, and it’s a trip to HR.

I've never eaten at one - but I always thought the name “Pho King Good” restaurant was just that they were the “King” in that type of food. It was only a few years ago that I learned the actual pronunciation of “Pho” that I got the humor.
There is a large Chinese Restaurant near us called “The Frying Fish”. I DID get the humor in that one. Prior to the pandemic it was ALWAYS crowded with Asians.

I also have a sister-in-law named Chinh and a niece-in-law named Hang. Pho is some good eating. Wife made me some Pho (fur) yesterday.
Had our April trip to Vietnam canceled because of COVID this spring. We’ll go later, hopefully.

We had a guy in our facility whose name was, honestly, Michael Hunt. Occasionally, he would be paged in a manner as, “Paging Michael Hunt. Mike Hunt report to the [work station]..”
