last night watching the late night reruns of the Golden Girls, they had at least 4 commercials in a row featuring black people....not coincidence.....Yesterday while watching a golf tournament there were at least two 60-second commercials, one featuring a successful female black basketball player and businesswoman saying her success (I'm paraphrasing) didn't matter because she's still a black person.
The other was an older black man (I don't know who) saying that "a conversation" must happen in this country and that the Boston Tea Party was a riot but it's romanticized because the participants were white.

This isn't new - it's been going on for several years. Blacks are about 13% of the population, but seem to comprise about 35%-40% of the featured actors in TV commercials. Moreover, virtually all of them are depicted as living in upscale neighborhoods.
You'll see gays, lesbians, single moms (always in upscale neighborhoods), a few Asians, an occasional Muslim or Sikh, dads feeding babies, female astronauts, meditators, practitioners of yoga and Tai Chi, but never - except for Mike Lindell in his own commercials - a person depicted as a Christian
