The flight had jut taken off from one of the DC airports and failed to gain altitude and crashed a couple of minutes after takeoff.The news coverage was amazing...and very disturbing.
The next day Howard Stern called that airline's reservation number...*on the air*...and asked the agent how much a ticket would cost from Dulles Airport to the Potomac River.
If that doesn't show him to be a filthy,amoral punk I don't know what would!

Stern did not actually call the airline.
I remember that call. He really didn’t get much heat from it as I recall. Just the publicity he craved.
