The Klan was founded by Democrats. Republicans were a prime target of the Ku Klux Klan.

During Early 20th century, the heyday of the Klan, their epicenter wasn’t Mississippi or Alabama and such. It was the upper Midwest such as Ohio, Michigan, etc.
