On June 6th, more than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end, the Allies gained a foothold in Continental Europe. Within ten days, there were half a million troops ashore, and within three weeks, there were two million.

The numbers are simply staggering. Unbelievable.

Unbelievable whats going on in our country on this anniversary. What would the greatest generation say? I can honestly say I am glad my WWII veteran father is DEAD so he does not have to see it.

this picture, where it looks like General Eisenhower was firing up the troops...

He was actually talking with the paratrooper (a fellow Kansan) about working in a grocery store growing up.

The day that saved the world...

...and more and more, lately, we ask “for what”?

Anyone notice that there were no movies or shows on last night about D-Day? Even TCM ignored it.

Disappearing history at the hands of ungrateful little punks.

Incredibly brave and courageous undertaking. As well as a monumental logistical achievement. A salute to all the soldiers, sailors, and airmen who go the job done.
