I wonder how Mr. Chauvin can get a fair trial considering the decline in Minneapolis and USA. Hapless politically-chosen jurors would be afraid to find out the truth of the tragedy.
I read somewhere that Drew is a registered Republican but could not find the source. If you know his zip code, you can find out his party by using the secretary of state’s voter portal. Plug in the name “Drew Brees” along with his zip code and his 01/1979 date of birth. I noticed he was born in Austin, TX.
“Hapless politically-chosen jurors would be afraid to find out the truth of the tragedy.”
Oh I can promise you he was contributory to the death. He was not the actual reason he died, but his cutting off a certain amount of oxygen to the victim was part of the process.
An example of what people assume is like with the heimlich maneuver. First rule of thumb, if the individual can talk to you, don’t start the process because he has an open airway enough to talk. So he can breath. In the case with the drugged up man using a substance that has a history of pulse ox problems, and that it was not used in a controlled dose by a physician and, also, mixed with meth, he was talking to the cop. Therefore, his airway was not blocked so the cop didn’t strangle him. But he, also, didn’t figure out the health emergency until after his efforts cut off enough air to cause a respiratory failure. Manslaughter yes. Intentional murder, one or two, no.
So if I was council that’s the way I would approach it. Facts don’t lie. And the jury is required in a murder case to be aware of the three primary standards of proof:
Proof beyond a reasonable doubt, preponderance of the evidence, and clear and convincing evidence.
Got some problems here. Two of those are very week to find murder, even two.
