Let us examine the reason why that statement could be true. Anyone feel comfortable in an inner city neighborhood not looking like those who might be in the majority there? Or, as a store owner, would you be comfortable if a recognizable group of visitors to your store began fanning out and eyeing the merchandise. Anyone in their family been killed by a member of that group (yes)? Anyone in your family been killed or even injured by members of an other group (no)? Now, what might cause that? Ever look at statistics of past criminal behavior or events?? Do they matter?? When you can answer these questions honestly ValJerk, I will consider your comment relevant. Till then STFU.

I would worry about how I would fare if I walked the streets of East St Louis as a white guy. I also believe white guys have been gunned down in shameless displays of police brutality without the cops paying any price.
If someone was banging on my front door like they were trying to break it down, I’d take a gun with me to go look. And if they were cops, I’d be shot 20-30 times. White guy with bifocals notwithstanding.

So what I would like to see is a better tone at the top, not one that’s threatening violence and using guns to help quell this unrest, but rather constructively sit down and say, what can we do to bridge this gulf?
The country has been trying to “bridge that gulf” for 75 years by various programs including the money bomb. Time to forget it. Get on board or get the F out. Don’t like it here, planes fly to all nations. A one way ticket for an entire family would probably cost less than 2 months in benefits and that would end the benefits for life. Great financial investment there plus a reduction in malcontents.
Rioters burning down their neighborhood reminds me of a line from Goodfellows movie: When the police showed up with a search warrant, Jimmy’s wife would spit on her floor. Can you imagine spitting on your own floor??
