I don’t miss the way my palms get sweaty as a cashier requests to see multiple forms of ID I don’t miss the way I can feel my whole face tense up when a white woman clutches her purse as we pass each other on the street.

Odd how 'people of color' who are Japanese don't have women clutch their purses when THEY walk by... same with 'people of color' who are Chinese. It's not racism when the fear is legitimate.

I suggest this man - Ernst Owens - check crime statistics (as a percentage of population) to see if the high percentage of criminals within the black community IS the problem - and NOT racism. Ernst Owens wants us to believe a woman is afraid because of the color of skin rather than what that color represents. Is he really that stupid? It's NOT 1960 - and this isn't the Jim Crow South. And Mr. Owens is placing the blame for his 'feelings' in the wrong place.

Sounds like BS. ID is not required for most purchases, usually only for cigarettes and alcohol. All they ever ask for is a driver's license. I'm decades away from being 21, and I still get asked for ID for these kinds of purchases.
