“glory Hole Gretchen” - now there is a campaign sign that would work well in certain neighborhoods. Of course, many people would need to have it explained. That could be awkward.

In the corporate world it is difficult to sue over “bad judgement” decisions by company officials. A company I worked for took out a huge loan and used it to pay bonuses to their top officers. Then, they went out of business. The bank that made the loan sued and lost.

I don’t know what the legal liability, if any, of a politician is. However, I hope that not only do small businesses sue (with financial backing, of course) individual government people that ran them out of business, but also the DOJ prosecutes them.

My guess, however, is the “bad judgement” defense applies here as well.
