The only real ‘sports’ are mountain climbing, gymnastics, shooting sports, and auto racing (specifically Formula 1). The rest are just games.

If the standard is "can you get killed or seriously maimed" rodeo and some equestrian events would also qualify.

I once heard Rush Limbaugh saw that golf was not a sport; anything you can do while drinking [adult beverages] and smoking is a game, not a sport.

I thought that was a pretty good distinction.
