Now that the ‘50s POP MUSIC tournament is nearing its end, when can we expect to see the R&B and R&R songs that dominated the ‘50s? ...Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Little Anthony, Ruth Baker, Bo Diddly, Jimmy Reed and all of the singing groups (Clovers, Five Satins, Coasters, et al)...
I do appreciate your time and effort spent in putting up these threads!
I don’t know - it seems like Billboard did not have (DOES not have) year-end charts for all the categories? Although, one could sift through the year-end pop for the best of different categories.
Anyway, I was thinking of a new format, which unfortunately would involve an even longer tournament. I’m thinking 11 weeks, whereas I’ve done this style which is 7. Only way to shrink it would be to have the later stages in half-weeks, which would be the easier parts to tally. This would basically be pop (except pop means “popular”, not any genre) but allow participants more selection from the top-ranked songs.
