Well, the fact that the patient for this trial recovered is ONE anecdotal evidence ( as opposed to THOUSANDS for Hydroxychloroquine ).

Gilead has been working on remdesivir for over 4 years - developing it for MERS, SARS and ebola and a few other respiratory bugs.

They are working in China as it has the most cases of MERS and SARS. Gilead also has been working with the chinese virologists on Hepatitis C for which Gilead developed a cure for and China had many cases.

Kinda bad optics to be working in a place on a respiratory bug and VIOLA a respiratory bug is mysteriously let loose on an ill-prepared planet.

Okay. So they gave it to the first patient and he or she recovered with no ill effects.

What about the second patient? Or the third or fourth?

What did they treat them with?

Or did they just have one dose of Remdesivir laying around in the junk drawer?

Oh. Wait. No. I figured it out. Once they had their first success story, that became "anecdotal evidence" and that treatment was halted until clinical studies could be conducted.

The date is Feb 4 and it is Bat lady indicating she has already figured out what to do and includes the class of drugs.

Maybe you dont understand what Quinoline means as a Class of Drugs.
