As I said, I was taught the same rule in 5th grade. I remember it distinctly. I can still see the teacher towering over me as she said it. "DON'T WRITE IN THE FIRST PERSON! NO ONE WANTS TO READ "I I I I" OVER AND OVER!"
It was a harsh rule and it really turned to off to writing.

Given all the pricey private education bestowed on Barack Obama in his formative years, I’m left to wonder how he escaped that same lesson from a teacher like yours or the good Father/Monk mentioned by Mr. Di Leo. It would have removed some of the sting of his illegitimate election had we not been harangued by his speeches littered with “I” this or that.
