Obama has no worries. Is he annoyed? You bet. Obama hates Flynn, and hates Trump. Anything that could be seen as a win for either is sure to upset Barry.
Panic? Why? I have a better chance of being elected President in 2024 than Obama has of facing ANY consequences.
The question has been asked; why did the FBI want to keep the Flynn case open, (which was to be closed for lack of any evidence of his being a national security risk)?
The answer most have come up with is that Flynn knew where the bodies were buried, and that may be true, but there is another reason for wanting to get rid of Flynn.
In the motion to dismiss filed by the DOJ, there is a transcript of testimony by Comey to the House. In that testimony Comey states that after Obama placed sanctions on the Russians in December the whole intelligence community were looking for reactions from Russia and to see how they would retaliate against the US, and then to see what retaliation to their retaliation we would place on them.
My theory is that Obama was trying to get into a tit for tat with Russia that would leave PDJT with another fire to try to put out. Flynn, by discussing the sanctions with the Russian Ambassador poured cold water on this scheme.
The testimony detailed how the IC and FBI were searching for the reason that there was no retaliation and that is when they came across the Flynn/Ambassador phone call, and that is when they unmasked Flynn.
Obviously Obama would have been immediately briefed on this which explains why he brought it up in the meeting with Yates and Comey on 5 January, 2017.

And then the Intelligence Community, including the FBI, was surprised when the Russians did nothing in response to the expulsion. One of the reasons we were was to see, how far will they go in retaliating to us, and then what will we do?

That is correct and the reason is that once Obama was sworn in as President in direct violation of the Constitution with the approval of BOTH parties he had carte blanche and he knew it.

Exactly! This is just meat to keep the base happy and not focus on how Trump got played on the Shutdown and how the governors of the blue states are positioning perminant power with corrupt mail in ballots. Nothing repeat NOTHING will happen!
