I guess Trump didn’t fire him three years ago because it never occurred to Trump that the head of the CDC would be political if there was ever a problem in the country. My Lord, Obama’s people are everywhere and all are intent on destroying this country.
Fauci isn't the head of the CDC. He's also isn't one of ‘Obama’s people’. He's a long-term politico who is head of the NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases). He's been in that position for ~36 years (appointed in 1984 - when Reagan was President).
He's part of an entrenched culture at the NIH that is generally very liberal. If you're conservative and work at the NIH, you probably don't talk about it. If you are overtly conservative there, it is highly unlikely you will ever be promoted to a position of power/oversight.
