Personal experience - I just remember half of the guys in our office were out sick for quite a while after the injection that was done with a pistol like gadget. I had one, but stayed healthy.

1st tour. A coy, 2 platoon, 3 section. 10 men. Flu shot was mandatory and I resisted and signed a waiver and didn’t take it. Everyone was sick except me. Now, I’m no mathematician, but I’m sure that’s even more than 50%.
