I too have wondered if they might have some slight value. I am sure they have the tags and rivets. It would take a while to find them. He might have just not wanted to dig through stuff for something he could not wear immediately.
When we were kids in the 50s and 60s, Mother would always get Wranglers for us. They were just as good and cheaper.
All those cheap moms have turned Levis into a collectible, not to mention the moms who threw out all those comic-book collections and baseball cards!
I was trying to recollect the size formula when buying jeans back then. Was it increase by 2” in the waist, and one inch on the inseam, or the other way around?
