Then wash and shrink, some.
Then wear them to stretch out where needed.

You should wash them in cold water very infrequently. Wash them only when they’re visibly dirty or starting to stink. After washing you should put them on wet and wear them while they dry. They will then conform to your body and fit much better.
Seems like chafing may be a problem wearing wet jeans all day while they dry, or two days if it’s humid. Some people overthink the simple stuff.
