Imagine making that movie today?
Or anything from the Mel Brooks library?
Heads would be a popping all over this planet!

The Governor sounds a lot like Joe Biden.

C’mon, boys! The way you’re lollygaggin’ with them picks and them shovels, you’d think it was a hunnerd-twenty out here! Can’t be more than a hunnerd-fourteen.

How badly do you have to cut the movie up to make it PC compatible nowadays? I saw it on cable TV and they were even censoring the farts.
To: shotgun
I watch Blazing Saddles every day at President Dr. Trump’s daily coronavirus briefings.

You mean the actual flatulence.
I daydreamed for a second that the “Journalists” were silenced.

I own a Blueray version unedited, with a second pass that has Mel Brooke’s director’s commentary laid over 3/4 of the movie. Great insights about the writing, and the filming.
Gene Wilder helped write the script, but was not originally cast. The original Waco Kid nearly died filming the first shooting day, doing the upside down hang from the bed by his boots. Brookes called Wilder, and Wilder took a red eye to begin filming the next day. That jail scene is the first cut, unrehearsed.
