Because it has always been done a certain (and imo wrong) way does not mean it needs to continue.
I used to work with someone who thought this way and they had the bosses ear (and their nose up his butt) and his excuse anytime a change in procedure was suggested was to claim we couldn’t do it and when asked why he gave the same stupid answer which was because we never did it before.
how is it Prof Ricciardi, adviser to Italy’ minister of health, can say all this to a so-called reputable British newspaper, and yet the world’s MSM continue daily to quote the high figures, around 15,000 last I noticed as being Italian covid deaths? why not say Italy has around 2,000 covid deaths?

According to Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health, the country’s mortality rate is far higher due to demographics - the nation has the second oldest population worldwide - and the manner in which hospitals record deaths...
But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities.
“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus.
“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three,” he says...

what if only half or less of NY State’s covid deaths are caused by covid?
and, even if we accept Italy’s high death rate, and we extrapolate it to US population, they would have around 75,000 deaths by now. makes US figure I last saw of around 8,400 look rather different than the media is making out. you’d think US had massive covid deaths the way I hear it on BBC, ABC Australia etc.
