Coronavirus has been shown to be transmitted by bodily waste - both feces and urine.
The idiots are just infecting anyone who walks by, who may acquire the virus formites on the bottom of their shoes,
and then tracking the virus into their domicile/ living area.
Thus establishing a virus infection into a once previously infection-free area of their home.
Better to leave exposed clothing and shoes out in the hallway, away from living quarters.

There are probably quite a few people still alive who recall dumping “night soil” out the second story window in Italy. I know my dad witnessed it in the Navy during the Korean War. He thought Italy was a filthy country because of that for the rest of his life.
