Costco has had a run on large bags of flour. I imagine most will be returned next month.

They also sell huge bags of rice, maybe 40 lbs? I always see Indian folks hauling those toward the checkout.

I would not doubt that one bit.

A five pound bag of flour will make a good many loaves of bread for a couple.

Ten pounds would last a long time. A staple of the diet.

I don’t think stores take food back in return. This was a one-way purchase. Probably lots of donations to food pantries later this year. But seriously people should have 3 to 6 or even 12 months of stock in the pantry anyway.

Someone mentioned that these stores out to stamp on each receipt "NO RETURNS".

I once was a night stocker at Wal-Mart in the furniture section. Every Thanksgiving, we would sell out of bar stool sets of six or eight. After the holidays, they'd all show up as returns.

Time to start penalizing these sponges.
