From what I have gleaned, the widespread panic we have seen may not be justified.
I’m certainly not going to “worry myself to death” over a damn news-hyped bug.
Yes, and it is likewise time for many folks on FR to get over their panic that we need to discuss and prepare for the worst, for anything. Prudence is not panic.
We have always had at least 2 months of supplies and food on hand, here in SoCal it is the smart thing to do. When the disaster is upon us, the time for preparedness has passed.
The Chinese Flu is Here and it is the first time in History that it is being Transmitted over the Television!!
How many are dead again? And the average age?
At Niguarda, the other big hospital in Milan, they are not intubating anyone over 60, which is really, really young.
Lady interviewed on the scene in Italy on Fox and Friends this morning said this not true.
And spreading panic is not prudence...if we feel the need to shut everything down for this bug, then it makes even more sense to shut everything down every Flu season....
I prepared in January, I also prepared my GD and husband then. I told others to prepare then and they ignored me.
We have been very skeptical of all of this but yesterday my husband started feeling panicky and so we added to our store of water, food and other staples. Our daughter called and said that a friend in Los Angeles told her that stores near her were being emptied out.
Went out last night in the pouring rain to get more supplies. We always have food and other staples for short term, say two to three weeks but we decided to plan for 7-8 weeks. Better to be safe than sorry.
Son went to a store near his house and said that the shelves were empty for a lot of items. Said he had never seen anything like this in his life. Neither have we.
I work in a buffet in Las Vegas. A locals place. Business is down 75%. I expect layoffs are coming. The customers we have had are not afraid. What they are is pissed at the media and the demonrats.
I don’t know if this virus is going to be as bad as some project, but the panic is real and who knows when a return to normalcy comes.
Nobody seriously thinks it's the zombie apocalypse.
