“People who lived through the Depression never really got over it. - Tom “

My mom passed away at the age of 96 several years ago in her home. She was still very with it all the way to the end and told us (and my kids) her stories of growing up - including the Depression.

I showed my kids her stash of used, but clean tin-foil. Even though she lived in a very nice and large home, she still saved the tin-foil! (And washed out zip-lock bags, etc.)

(And washed out zip-lock bags, etc.) When my mother would baby sit , my wife and I would come home and every light in the house would be off except for the one in the room she was in.

They got the hell scared out of them in that Depression, and never got over it.

Remember good times are just a period between economic Depressions. Don't borrow; and save everything for the next disaster. -Tom
