Why not Barack Obama? I think the proscription against a third term is a third term in a row, but he’s been out of office for a term now.
And I am sure she thinks over the last couple of years we have all learned our lesson and will vote right this time!

I thought that the original wide pool was the strategy to force a brokered convention, but the lead still had to be with Biden to control how the “selection” went at the convention. Biden is the “controlled” candidate, he gets to stay out of jail.
The problem is that Sleepy Joe’s performance was so awful, starting in Iowa, that they had to go to plan B. All effort, and the other candidates, have been had to be dedicated to even keeping Joe in the race.
As you suggest, Controlled-Joe bows out, now, at the convention, and all effort before then goes into keeping Bernie from a majority.
Her stamina now is even worse that it was 4 years ago. She cannot do a full out campaign, we still don’t know what her health problems are.
Very few want to vote for her but quite a few want to vote against Trump.
What voters want or don't want is irrelevant. Its about what Hillary wants and foes she have the power to get what she wants
We know what she wants, what we don't know is whether she has the power go get what she wants

I doubt it. The DNC knows that her candidacy is doomed from the outset. Is there any major voter group where Trump is weaker than he was in 2016? In almost all demographic groups, he’s running significantly ahead of 2016 and he had a winning coalition then. I’d look for the DNC to tap someone else. See who gets pushed on Biden as VP and that’s probably the one.
