I heard on Fox last night that Grenell is trying to reign in 17 intelligence agencies. 17?? Why the hell do we have 17 intelligence agencies?

It just may take seventeen intelligence agencies to find one honest man.
The obvious answer is because we have become a centralized authoritarian police state that wraps itself in the form of the old American republic. But some people don’t like hearing that.
All the best totalitarian states have multiple security agencies to keep an eye on their enemies, in this case the US voters.
To begin with, 4 of those are service (Army, Navy, AF, Marine) which have little or no direct input into national level products. They serve the combat soldier.
DIA is also DoD related, although they tend to focus on military matters for the National Intelligence Community.
NGA and NMIC, and some other smaller groups which I forget at the moment, focus entirely on their own data set and also have no input into that type of activity.
Really, the only intelligence agencies which would have serious input into election tampering by foreign governments would be CIA, State and ONI. The ONI has no actual collectors and only regurgitate what they are given.
So, in actuality, the whole thing came from CIA and State, both of who hate President Trump with their whole heart body, mind and soul (if they had one).
The lie of 17 agencies was to make it look more important than it really was.
