The Rev. Al Sharpton had harsh words for mayoral hopeful Mark Green and the Democratic Party yesterday charging the Democratic nominee did everything he could to polarize the city.
I want to know where the whole Democratic leadership was [during the mayoral runoff], Sharpton, whod supported Fernando Ferrer against Green in the runoff, said at a rally at his National Action Network headquarters.
Wherever they were, stay there and keep your mouth shut. Dont be running your mouth off to us.
Sharptons comments came as Green spent a second day taking hits from Ferrer supporters over an attack ad at the end of the race, and a string of phone calls and fliers urging voters to say no to Ferrer and Al Sharpton which Greens camp denies knowing about.
But it also came just hours before the bombshell news from the citys Board of Elections that the unofficial vote totals in the runoff which Green had narrowly won had been overcounted by perhaps as many as 200,000 votes or more.

I remember this very well. I mentioned it to someone the other day.
Yes.
Green was a lock to win even after the Sept. 11 attacks. NYC is a heavily Democratic city.
Everyone knew that Bloomberg was a longtime Democrat who re-registered.
Is that the Mark Green that used to be a Firing Line moderator at times?
Yes. Green was very, very liberal.
Lol. Most of us remember Green as the consumer advocate who thought cereal prices were too high. That was his one claim to fame.
What keeps Sharpton’s National Action Network going? Don’t tell me people give him money or is he playing the game Jesse Jackson played for years and no doubt still is? Truly - what person in their right mind would give either of them one thin dime?
al must be a little low on cash.
Sharpton gets his money from local grassroots from black and Latinos in NYC and Atlanta, etc.
Hannity has a lot to say about him back then and none of it nice. The guy Green that is is a world class jerk
