PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Two more rural Arizona counties have declared themselves to be “Second Amendment sanctuary counties,” taking stances in favor of gun rights even as some supporters of the measures acknowledge they'll have no or little real legal effect.
The unanimous votes by the boards of supervisors of La Paz County on Monday and Yavapai County on Wednesday follow a similar declaration by Mohave County supervisors on Nov. 4.
Population is about 475,000. Principal population centers are Prescott, Prescott Valley, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu, and Kingman. It is 25+ Republican and represented in Congress by Paul Gosar, who wrote a letter supporting the 2A Sanctuary movement.
Home of the famous Gunsite Academy. Perhaps the highest percentage of gun owners lives in these counties.
Ruger’s handgun production is located in Prescott.
These counties traditionally have the highest voter turnout in AZ.
President Trump will get about 67% of the vote in November.
I’ve learned that gun rights is a huge issue for the 20+ age group.both male and female.
What I find ridiculous is that Arizona of all places should need this.

They should be called constitutional counties.
It's more of a public statement. Loud and clear. American hating Leftist make public statements and declarations all the time. It's about damn time Americans stand up and do it as well.

I’d guess there were probably closer to 400 people, in fact so many the line circled have way around the facility and many just gave up and left once the inside was packed to standing room only.
Last year I was the Chairman of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors. I brought the resolution to the Board and it passed unanimously to make Mohave County the first Second Amendment Sanctuary County in Arizona. To those who do not understand why Arizona of all places should have to do this have to understand that we are are purple State that may go full on Democrat next year. The Dems at the State legislature introduced a bill for gun control this year. it will not get through the Republican’s very slim majority, but when they get the majority, and they may, they will try it again. In the 12 years I have been involved in AZ Republican politics we have gone from a totally red State, with all State offices in GOP control, to half and half. We lost a Senate Seat and we may lose the other one this year.
The Sanctuary County and City movement is a statement of fight, and we will fight. The Sheriff is the Constitutional authority of every County.
I am proud that Mohave County was first and they are all using our Resolution.
This crap is coming out of Phoenix as I’d guess 70+ percent of the population outside of it are strong pro-2A. Very similar to what happens in CA with LA/SF/Sacramento, etc.
Phoenix and Tucson control statewide elections.
Just like CA...It’s always the main population centers where most of the low life, parasites and politicians live.
That’s pretty much the case in every western state.
