in my visits to Alton, I noticed a huge difference between it and other towns on either side of the river. It still retains a “normal” feel, that most of the greater st. Louis area doesn’t have. Even the area’s of downtown and the area’s around both universities are rough.
And fast eddies, it’s for the tourists, food was barely passable, service is non-existent and at least the night I was there the band, well it was a cover band for tourists. Nothing original, or even done in their own style or flare. After going once, I didn’t go back even to take my nephew.
