A top Salt Lake City newspaper on Wednesday evening lauded Utah Sen. Mitt Romney for “doing the right thing” by voting to remove President Donald Trump from office.
“Mitt Romney could have ducked this one,” wrote the editorial board of The Salt Lake Tribune, but the 2012 GOP presidential nominee “couldn’t explain it to his conscience” and “could not avert his eyes from the fact that this president had, without a shadow of a doubt, abused his power as commander and chief.”
The editorial board argued that all Utahns and Americans, “regardless of politics, ideology or religion should be duly impressed with Romney’s decision to follow his heart and his conscience — and his God — in doing the right thing when doing the right thing was difficult.” Romney, a devout Mormon, frequently invoked his faith in a brief speech from the Senate floor on Wednesday afternoon, when he announced his intention to vote in favor of the first House impeachment article charging Trump with abuse of power.
“I’m aware that there are people in my party and in my state who will strenuously disapprove of my decision, and in some quarters I will be vehemently denounced,” he said in his prepared remarks. “I’m sure to hear abuse from the president and his supporters. Does anyone seriously believe that I would consent to these consequences other than from an inescapable conviction that my oath before God demanded it of me?”

LDS people in Utah read the ‘Deseret News’ ... the Salt Lake Tribune is essentially the New York Times of Utah .... and is known as VERY ANTI-LDS!!!

The failing salt lake tribune is only suitable for butt wiping and bird cage lining.
According to my quick internet research, in 2014 the Salt Lake Tribune’s 2014 circulation was 61,475.
A 2019 report shows their circulation numbers at 31,000.
And in 2019 the newspaper was granted nonprofit status by the IRS.
Truly, this is part of the failing main stream media.
If the Salt Lake Tribune were a ship, it would be named the Titanic, and the crew would be urging passengers to get into their life vests and would be quickly putting the lifeboats into the ocean.
So far, looks like the Deseret News is 100% pro Mittens. Hope this stunt is a wake up call for Utah. Probably not. They elected the loser.

No doubt this Demorat rag also endorsed Benedict Romney, so hardly a surprise that they should try to cover his butt.
Romney is a coward to mask his hatred for Trump as the wisdom of God. Romney can’t read minds to see if Trump was really guilty of getting dirt on Biden. The charitable thing to do would be to believe what Trump said is true and charity is something God approves. As it is stands he’s a craven, weak man who can’t be trusted.
