First time I read idea about giving him the medal was right here on FR right after his illness was announced.
Not sure why he was shocked. I saw that too.
After four hours of being told repeatedly on the news and in almost every medium that it was going to happen, I am not sure why he was “surprised.”
Not taking anything from the man...but whoever kept him in the dark should arrange surprise parties.

I never read that it was happening last night. He was busy with his treatment.
No, giving him the medal was first suggested here.
When it was announced he would be at the SOU I thought that is when the ceremony woiuld be announced.
I had no idea that he would actually receive it at SOU and I was as surprised as Rush.

Fox was going back and forth all night. It was being announced and it was being presented.
As I said, I am not complaining about it at all. I just wonder how he was surprised at the announcement.
I agreed with you as the idea was first mentioned on FR. No one thought it would happen at SOTU. How many millionss of people saw that. Wonderful!!!!
I teared up too. Last night watching I thought it was over the top. After a good night’s sleep I am glad President Trump did it this way. Had he done it in the oval office the MSM/FN would have NEVER reported it or shown any pics. Last night they could not avoid it. This was a presidential patriotic middle finger to the Bolshevik party and media.

They are making great advances right now and lung cancer is leading the research. I pray they figure out the key to this horrible disease.
