The pretext is indeed flimsy. But its more than just flimsy. It is despicable.
But it is also quite legal. The Constitution gives the House the absolute power to impeach, and the Senate the absolute power to convict. And thats the way it has to be. Otherwise, a tyrannical president could not be removed except by assassination.
So make no mistake about it. If someone (military or civilian) takes up arms over this, that person is going against the Constitution, and against the Rule of Law. It is, essentially, treason.
Now, maybe acts of treason are necessary to set this country right. But that is a whole other issue.
