That’s what I thought.
They were probably racing someone’s new vehicles.
That was one of my favorite Car and Driver articles.
It went something like this
Officer: Why were you driving 135 on a 40?
Gurney: We were going to the beach
Officer: How long had you been driving
Gurney: 38 hours, 14 minutes and 25 seconds until your boys decided to stop us
Officer: Where did you start?
Gurney: Manhattan
Officer: Manhattan Kansas in only 13 hours?”
Gurney: Further east
Just watched Jay Leno drive the Z51 convertible with the chief engineer (cant pronounce let alone spell his name).
The convertible looks good. Wasnt thrilled with the orange color though.
I want to know what happened to the cars when the drivers were hauled away. You don’t think the cops wanted to drive the cars themselves, do you?
that was a good video.
I really liked the engineer.
It does look good. Hopefully they're all assembled better than my old '72 Vette.
Bowling Green doesn’t have nothing on Woodward Avenue - the original factory and dealer showroom demonstration test track!
When I lived in the Detroit area, I worked for a company that sold to the automakers.
You think Woodward was a test track, I really felt sorry for the rental companies. It wasn’t unusual to rent cars to test out new components.
My company once rented a minivan and removed the interior, replaced some floor pan components, replaced the interior, added instrumentation and drove it around. They did that several times testing some acoustic component then returned the car 3 months later with about 200 miles on it.
So, are these Corvettes now ‘used’ cars?.......................
