You have to really work hard intentionally to completely delete a file. Usually requires a special program that over writes the file location on the storage media with zeros 8-10 times

That is a good point, it is extremely hard to totally destroy a digital file.

Yes. The determination required to fully and competently execute this “accidental deletion” is truly commendable ... in a backhanded sort of way.
