Get an iMac. I have three of them and never have a problem. They're all easy to use and, if you buy Apple Care, you can get a tech on the phone to fix anything that's not hardware-related.

Some people might disagree, but the only people I know with computer problems, run Windows OS. They're always cussing at them.

HP has meant Has Problems for many, many years and I refuse to own one. I tell anyone who asks for my opinion essentially the same.

I’ve been a Dell guy for a long time and they have done well by me and my MIS department.

I’ve been building my own PC’s for 25 years.

Right now I’m running off the guts of a Lenovo I got on Ebay for $70 a year ago.

How much does an iMac and Apple Care cost?

Wouldn’t disagree with you on Apple products, but have to say I’ve never owned one. I guess it’s just because I got so used to the various Windows systems. But I must say that most of my good fortune with Windows was on Dell computers & the bad luck involved HP. Had an HP printer go down once & took the computer with it. No more HP printers after that. I have a Dell desktop & an older HP laptop now, mainly because the laptop was a freebie. It runs Windows 7 & still works, but is painfully slow. Attempts to correct it have been unsuccessful so far. I have no plans to replace it.

My latest iMac has been nothing but problems because it does not have enough operating memory. And Apple designed it so you can't add memory.

I would never have imagined I couldn't add memory to an iMac. Yet that is the case.

If I run more than three programs, it freezes or crashes.

It takes forever to do ordinary chores, like do a Google search.

I use “Clean My Mac” software to keep it from being completely useless.

I will never buy another iMac. Apple is dead to me.

Here are the specs of my iMac:

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015

Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Startup Disk: Macintosh HD

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB

I became an Apple convert in 2007. I was so impressed with the iPod product that I took a chance on one of their laptops - a 17" MacBook Pro. This was around the time the iPhone was just coming out.

I found it ridiculously easy to use and believe it or not, It's not my main computer anymore but still have it today. I keep it in my study and use it to play music or do light web surfing.

Fact is, every single Apple product I've purchased still works today, going back to my original 2003 iPod. And despite the common complaint about Apple batteries not being replaceable (they actually are) - I've never had to replace a battery on any Apple device. Ever.

So over the years I've accumulated (3) iPods, (2) iPads, (2) MacBook Pro laptops and a MacBook Air and all of them are still in working order. Though admittedly, I've given up on using the iPods only because my iPhone (which I automatically replace ever two years) does the job of playing music.

I don't understand the vitriol of the Apple-haters. They remind me of those ignoramuses who blindly hate President Trump no matter how much good he does. But I'm perfectly happy with all my Apple product and in terms of utility (heavy usage over a long lifespan), they are actually far cheaper to purchase than any Windows based product.

“Get an iMac. “

Yup. My iMac is now seven years old and has only just recently given me problems one time when I tried to load the 10.15.2 Catalina OS update. A quick call to Apple Support and I was up and running within an hour. You can call me an Apple Fanboy (my son does), but all my Apple products - iPhones, iMac, iPads, work like new and they all work together without drama.

I just purchased a new Dell desktop for work because my Windows 7 was no longer supported and didn't want to risk installing 10 on the old system. lots of horror stories with 10 but that hasn't been my experience.

I use Apple everywhere else but prefer the Win 10 now. Granted set up is a little cumbersome with the Win products but memory, video cards and drive options are state of the art and flexible.
