The reason the Founders put the Second Amendment in the Constitution, the document Democrats and liberals selectively embrace or read things into when convenient, was seen last Sunday at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, near Forth Worth where, dare we say it again, good guys with guns stopped a bad guy with a gun.
Note the plural is used here, for video footage shows at least seven guns were drawn with seconds of the killer opening fire on the parishioners inside, killing two. But only two, as a wider massacre was stopped by those who dont believe in gun-free zones. Two of those who returned fires were armed security guards, you know, the people used to guard our money and our politicians, but whom our politicians wont let protect our schoolchildren.
Both common sense and abject stupidity were on public display in the aftermath of the shooting:
The churchs senior minister, Britt Farmer, said at a news conference Sunday that the congregation lost two great men today but could have lost more if those at the church were unarmed.
But it couldve been a lot worse. I am thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves, he said
Law enforcement officials praised the members of the churchs security team for ending the attack within seconds. Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn told The Dallas Morning News that Sunday was a horrific day in Tarrant County.
Today evil walked boldly among us, he said. But let me remind you, good people raised up and stopped it before it got worse.

Campaign and vote wisely this year...
Beautifully said, in a rather old-timey idiom as our Founders might have put it.
Sheriff Bill Waybourn is a hell of a good man.
One hopes that the Texas legislature votes for Constitutional Carry.
I wonder how many churches still openly display “No Guns Allowed” signs.
Just a FYI to the World, White Settlement is land locked inside the Ft Worth city limits.
Not ours.
I know of a couple men who carry and after watching an analysis of the shooting and the behavior of those ushers, I think I can ID at least three more.
If you see that sign, it’s time to find another church.
But it couldve been a lot worse. I am thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves, he said
Whoa! A preacher, no less.
I remind people in conversation over the holiday visiting season, especially young adults
It is only recently that people adopted a group think that the government is in charge of us. In fact we are in charge of the government
I am thankful that our government has not interfered in our God-given rights as human beings to protect ourselves.
“Our Government
Has Allowed Us”.
That is Not the
Proper interpretation
Of,
“Shall Not Be Infringed!”
I have not seen a no gun sign in a church in a long time.
NICE
What I would expect from Clint Eastwood.
The right to carry will never prevent all forms of evil, but the left would do well to be reminded that the concept of “mutually assured destruction” has kept us safe in a world full of nuclear weapons for decades.
The same principles apply to criminal attacks with firearms and while there are no guarantees of safety by the mere presence of a firearm in the hands of a law abiding citizen, the deterrent effect is undeniable and as we saw here it certainly decreased casualties of the innocent.
The obsession with disarming us all among those on the left is not a winning national strategy.
Our church has received threats. Real or hot air? Who knows? What I do know is that one uniformed LEO is always in the congregation near the platform; and a half dozen civilians with CC are there, too. Gives me a nice warm feeling.
