Mifsud was what the Soviet guys would call a ‘useful idiot’, and I don’t think he fully grasped the uses they were attaching to him, until one day....he woke up and started to ask questions. That was the end of usefulness for him.
That is not what a “useful idiot” meant for the Soviets. In any case Mifsud worked for western intelligence. Who ran Mifsud is the unknown.
