I watched the speech this morning and really thought he was going to say it wasn’t even going to be discussed. Just throw it in the trash and move on.

He all but said that. He trashed the articles and the process that produced them so thoroughly, that it's hard to imagine he will give them any consideration. He went on to pretty much set a standard for future impeachments, contrasting Pelosi and Schiff's partisan kangaroo court with the historical efforts to impeach Johnson, Nixon and Clinton taking years, special prosecutors, court challenges, defense council, solid evidence of a crime, etc.

I'll bet he doesn't want to tip his hand.

Better to keep the dems off balance and guessing what he's going to do than hand them something to use against him, something they can prepare for.

me too ... but the latest is that after Graham met with President Trump today, Graham stated on FNC that the President WANTS enough of a trial that a vote of acquittal is taken because the President believes a dismissal isn’t the same thing as an explicit acquittal ...

Both Graham and McConnell stated today that they believe the best approach is to adopt the trial rules the Senate used for the Clinton impeachment, namely, House presents its case, the President’s team presents its case, and then the Senate takes a vote ... no witnesses would be called, just as with the Clinton impeachment

the GOP Senate wants to end this charade as soon as possible and end the endless media circus, and get back to the business of filling more Federal judge vacancies ...

How could he do that as long as Pelosi hasn’t delivered the articles? There are procedures and currently as long as Pelosi holds out Trump hasn’t been officially Impeached....their vote means nothing!
