Trump tightens grips on judges as McConnell wins 50th Circuit pick

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump clinched their 50th circuit court judge in just three years on Wednesday, only five short of President Barack Obama’s record over an eight-year period. And McConnell isn’t done yet.

Now that he’s filled virtually every vacancy in the powerful appellate court system, the Senate majority leader will try and cram through 18 lower-level lifetime judges next week, some of them supported by Democrats.

“Whatever’s on the calendar, I’m going to make every effort I can to clear them all,” McConnell said in an interview. “We’ve already… finished up the circuits. So I’m going to make my best effort to clear the calendar of district judges by the end of the year.”

McConnell is particularly eager to accomplish another quick judicial spree because anyone not confirmed will have to start the confirmation process all over again next year.

Collins voted NO on Van Dyke, but it DID NOT MATTER.

Why? Because the other two hard-RINOs in the Senate, Murkowski and Romney both voted YES.

See how that works? Even with RINOs, it’s very rare for them to all vote against a judicial pick - often they vote FOR that pick, as was the case of Bumatay yesterday (when all 3 RINOs voted to confirm, but not a single Democrat), or one or two stray, but not all of them.

But what about the Democrats? Surely there would be one or two (maybe Manchin, who is ‘supposed’ to vote conservative at least some of the time, or Doug Jones, who is fighting for his seat in Alabama).

NOPE!!! Neither of these Democrats, nor any others voted for Van Dyke.

So, if the PURISTS here still think there’s ‘no difference between the parties’, please READ THE ABOVE and please try to understand it, at least when voting in November elections.

“But Republicans are ready to get tough: Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), McConnell’s top deputy, says if Democrats agree to confirm the judges quickly, they’ll get their judicial picks in blue states like Connecticut, Illinois and New York, the home state of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. But if Democrats resist, all bets are off.”
************************************************
This is a big league mistake by the Demi-RINO Thune. It gives us new young District Court judges who will not hesitate to do whatever they can (e.g., nationwide injunctions) to hobble President Trump.

It’s also unnecessary as there are plenty of vacant non-blue-state District Court nominees in the pipeline.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING TRUTH! A bad Republican is better than a good Democrat any day. This is a game of mathematics and we must use every flawed Republican necessary to keep Democrats from gaining a majority. Buckley said to always vote for the most conservative that can win in a primary but after that it’s voting straight Republican—all the way!

Thanks much, but I’m going to paraphrase you a bit, because your words may confuse others.

“Buckley said to always vote for the most conservative that can win (a general election) in the primary - but after that it’s voting straight Republican—all the way (in November)!”

Absolutely! There is NO virtue in losing to any Democrat! EVER!!!!!!! This means to ALWAYS vote straight Republican, no matter how undesirable is the Republican. The Democrat option will ALWAYS be worse!

“some of them supported by Democrats.”

What’s up with that?

Since there are no law schools that teach the Constitution the way it was understood just a couple generations ago, it is a safe bet that most conservative judges are not Constitutional conservatives, they are just slightly more restrained than the ACLU types.

Excellent! 5 more Circuit Court Appointments to go and Trump will have countered all the damage Obama did to the Circuit Courts.
