Men are more likely to work weekends and nights (with shift differentials.) Men are more likely to work outside. Men are much more likely to work in dangerous jobs. Men are more likely to work overtime.

All these things raise men’s paychecks more than women’s.

Also, male doctors see more patients than female doctors. So, hospitals have to hire more female doctors to see the same number of patients.

I have also noticed that men (my sons) are very aggressive about getting promotions, raises, and switching jobs. It has stressed me out! But they don’t worry about it.

While in jobs I am overjoyed that they have they have sought and negotiated better positions and make ridiculous money (engineers). They lose no sleep.

My assumption is that most women feel like I do - very stressed and intimidated about ruthlessly advancing a career
