Continuing to pretend that American elections can be won with appeals to ideology (or even economics) is a risky game, akin to playing Russian Roulette with our nation. There is no example of a campaign that has moved the needle on the racial voting patterns in the above graph.
George Bush's "Kinder Gentler" Conservatism still lost the black vote, the Jewish vote, the Hispanic vote and the Asian vote to the Democrat. So did Romney, so did McCain. So did Trump.
