Every classroom in every school is only as good as its lowest common denominator. If your kids are smart enough to educate themselves they may survive public school intact, but it’s a gamble - may as well home school. You can set the lowest common denominator much higher at home.

When it comes to students who are hard of hearing, dyslexic or developmentally delayed, this policy likely has done a great deal of good.

Not really.

When you put kids that have trouble learning with those who have no trouble you are setting them up for failure.

If a child is "hard of hearing" then they will need to be taught in a way that minimizes the challenge they have from their disability.

The problem is that those ways do not help and may potentially harm those who are dyslexic and those who are developmentally delayed have a whole slue of other issues.

Children are not all alike and may need to be taught in different fashions. That can not be done when they are all in the same class room.

This mainstreaming stuff is for the benefit of the adults, not for the good of the children normal or otherwise.
