By most everyone’s judgment, the Senate will not vote to remove President Donald Trump from office if the House impeaches him. But what if senators could vote on impeachment by secret ballot? If they didn’t have to face backlash from constituents or the media or the president himself, who knows how many Republican senators would vote to remove? Hilarious.
Playing chicken with the Trump supporters loses the Repukes about 10% of the base off the top.
Let us know how that will work out for ya in 2020, Repukelickin Senators.

I suspect that a secret ballot for impeachment would not be seen as legitimate, not by the vast majority of productive Americans. The outcome would be ugly on a scale we have not seen in 154-plus years, if ever.

Agreed.
Just saying “neener, neener, we will never vote for GOP...” means nothing. One party would work just fine for the deep state. If they have a secret ballot, they need to be marched out. Can’t make it to DC then head to your Statehouse.
