I sincerely doubt that Republicans have had much of anything to do with state policies since about the time Ronald Reagan was Governor there.
There has been an unbridled dash to ever more fanciful and unsuccessful programs, simply because the California state treasury was once flush with extra cash, and rather than to let the people of the state have some say in how it was to be spent, a small elite and their brain trust took it upon themselves to “improve” California, by some Utopian dream that might have been fueled by persons high on cocaine.
Leftards actually believe this, because they have a hatred and fear of industrial civilization and economic progress, which are characteristics of the white man. They have a hatred of man, because they believe that nature has intrinsic value and man is the enemy of nature.
