They passed this resolution that authorizes 6 committees to investigate Trump as part of the existing impeachment inquiry and report their findings to the Judiciary, which will serve as the central hub for writing up the Impeachment Articles.
They have given the committee heads subpoena power with this, and restricted the ability of the Minority (GOP) to do anything except ask the Democrat heads of those committees politely for things (in writing) which the Schiff-heads are free to deny.
The argument about "process" is over, and while Lindsey sort of took a victory lap yesterday, it's a Pyrrhic victory, at best.
The bottom line is whether you, me, or the people making YouTube videos like this process, it is going to result in Articles of Impeachment being drafted by Nadler's Judiciary Committee and submitted to the full House for passage, which is assured. (Today's vote being a preview.)
So, the main question for Trump is "Can you hold in the Senate".
IF the vote were today, I'm sure the answer would be YES.
But the vote is going to be in a few months, after all six Congressional committeees have used the power to get every tax return, bank loan, contract and American Express receipt that Trump has generated in the last 20 years and comb through them to add to the "All This and the Kitchen Sink Too" articles I think it's clear we must assume Nadler will pass.
And all those months will be filled with Brethless MSM reporting on "THE IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT TRUMP". I don't know how many Senators they will wear down. It's not hard to find 10 Republican "usual suspects' who regularly oppoose Trump. The second set of 10 is harder, but is it totally out of reach?
Pelosi FEARS an actual impeachment resolution to set up a formal impeachment inquiry because it would mean putting “moderate” Democrats (really liberal Democrats who pretend to be “moderate” in red districts) in peril. So instead they pass something today to go through the motions of impeachment without actually doing it.
