I wish the people of Farrell good luck with this new industry.
When you have been in a hole a long time and someone throws you a rope you dont ask who is on the other end.
The marijuana industry is and will continue to grow in leaps and bounds...until, the federal government steps in and starts enforcing federal marijuana laws. I believe Jeff Sessions would have done it, but I have a hunch he was discouraged from doing so.
I see this as a 10th amendment issue. States rights. I don’t know how many states have approved state laws to legalize medical and/or recreational cannabis. A few months ago, my state, Michigan, approved recreational marijuana. Medical marijuana has been legal for several years now. The infrastructure for procurement for medical has grown quite a bit. In fact, I would say medical dispensaries outnumber bars by about 5 to one within a 3 mile radius of where I live. It’s hard to tell for sure because so many have closed already.
Rules and regs and infrastructure for rec use ought to be in place sometime in the first half of 2020. There are many entrepreneurs gearing up to make money in this industry.
I’ve done a fair amount of research on cannabis, because I have problems eating. I even went so far as to find a doctor who will certify me for medical use. I’ve made two appointments, and cancelled both times. Meanwhile, I’ve lost 40 lb in the last 6 months because of chronic nausea and lack of appetite.
But from what I’ve read, I’m impressed with how the industry has developed standards for making sure the weed is not contaminated (distributors need to send their products to labs for testing which not only ensure the safety of the product, but their THC and CBD content as well).
I have a friend who is a med user who uses edibles. He said 25 mg of THC is the best dose for...I don’t know...eating, I guess. He is current being treated for pancreatic cancer.
Anyway I, for one, am glad to see this new industry being developed and look forward to seeing it grow. Whether or not I partake....I don’t know yet. I can’t seem to pull the trigger. Not even sure why I’m resisting...
I know that marijuana can help some cancer patients but the vast majority of users are recreational. Long term use of marijuana is dangerous in my opinion. I think it is a contributing cause of many forms of psychosis. I decided to stop smoking pot almost 40 years ago because I realized it was detrimental to my thought process. And apparently the potency of the marijuana nowadays is way stronger than decades ago. Let’s put it this way, there are better and more positive business ventures. The acceptance of marijuana as a good thing is another crack in the moral armour of society.
I can save them from wasting time and money on R&D.
Go clean out some chicken pens, mix that with a few horse stall scrapings and some decent dirt. Get some big fat seeds and get them sprouted, transplant to mixed goodies. Water every day and once a week mix up some Fish Emulsion per directions on label and feed the Babies.
As soon as they get big enough Sex them and cull the Males. Let the Females grow till the Buds are nice and pretty, smell awesome and get the little Pink and Light Green Hairs and the plants are 6+ then pull up roots and all. Hang upside down till dry- about 2-3 weeks.
Enjoy in small pinches in a glass pipe. Dont forget NO DRIVING OR HEAVY MACHINERY OPERATION. Lock the Pantry and Refrigerator.
Dont forget to cull those Male Plants !
