I dont want to get in a big argument about this because I know Im on the losing side in a society thats gone completely in the other direction, but I just want to point out that *in my opinion* if we lived in a republic that respected the US Constitution we would recognize that a teacher sharing her religious *opinions* with her students is not a violation of Congress shall make no law respecting a religion and that students actually benefit from being exposed to diversity of opinion. But thats just me and I realize my opinion is not recognized as valid in todays government schools.
Unfortunately because we live in a VERY litigious society & because it seems like a large segment of the population has seemingly lost their d*mned minds it seems that public discourse is just one giant argument.
I teach down south and when we have our end of the year awards ceremony with the whole district, there is always a blessing/prayer, a gospel song and a praise dance. At lunch many teachers pray before they eat. When we have a potluck at school someone always says a blessing. All it would take would be one person getting a lawyer & that would all be over. Sad but true.
