He reports a gun theft, Police steal his remaining guns and charge him with a crime. Good thing he didn’t call the police for a health check or he’d be dead..

If you’ve ever had your home broken into you know that the cops are lazy. My daughter arrived home to find a couple of criminals hauling her stuff off in a pickup. She photographed the pickup (& license plate) and called 911. The police asked if anyone was hurt. She said no. The cops then said it was an insurance company problem. She told them she’d followed them back to where they were storing the stuff. They told her to just go home and file an insurance claim. They also told her that she’d be in trouble for menacing if she confronted them.

I have no respect for cops.

“Yes, he made a big mistake in not securing the firearm,...”

Leaving his handgun in an unlocked glovebox in an unlocked car on the street in what I bet was a crime-challenged area was extremely bad practice. Not sure what Connecticut requires in the way of securing your firearms, but I have to wonder if police were not concerned that the idiot would soon be arming more criminals through negligence. My guess is there is more to this story than we are seeing in the article.
