Last week The Washington Post revealed the alarming news that House Democrats were considering having their anonymous “whistleblower” testify from a remote location, and in disguise. Just as shocking as the details of this plan was the justification the Post ladled on this Democratic effort to hide impeachment information from the public.
It explained, high up in the story, that the cloak-and-dagger approach was merely Democrats expressing “distrust of their GOP colleagues, whom they see as fully invested in defending a president who has attacked the whistleblower’s credibility and demanded absolute loyalty from Republicans.”
This, from a newspaper with a tagline of “Democracy Dies in Darkness.”
Maybe the better journalistic epitaph is: Democracy dies in bias. How did journalism get here?
I’ve never engaged much in media criticism, because it’s almost too obvious. Yes, the mainstream media is liberal and biased. But at least in the past, that bias was largely a function of insularity. Most reporters weren’t even fully aware they were prejudiced politically; everyone they worked and socialized with held the same left-of-center views.

Washington wanted to appear to be the individual in the the ruling class least personally interested in securing and holding political power. He agonized over the ramifications of any action he might take on his personal reputation for disinterested dedication to the public good rather than private gain. Now that you mention it, Trump and Washington are somewhat similar in this regard. But where Washington obsessed over his reputation among the social, political, and military elite, Trump focuses relentlessly on how he is viewed by the common man. The elites in British North America and in the new United States of America were by and large apparently generally morally upright and felt themselves naturally bound by social and cultural constraints as to appropriate behavior toward their fellow man (Aaron Burr and to a lesser extent Alexander Hamilton being notable exceptions). That may account for Washington’s appeal to them as arbiters or a measuring stick, solely qualified to determine who had the “right stuff” to preside over the Continental Army (1775-1783), the Constitutional Convention (1787), and the new country’s federal government (1789-1797). Trump of course recognizes that that same class has suffered from so much rot for so long that an entirely new locus of civic morality now exists. Like Washington, Trump is determined to appeal to it and it alone come hell or high water.

I’m pretty sure they have been shedding that mission since about the 1950s, when the USSR began a targeted effort to put moles into places of influence, like the media. The difference is that since Trump’s election, they aren’t even trying to hide their bias any more. They have fully become TASS.
Should Trump hire some of his detectives to dig up dirt on reporters? They’re pretty sleazy most of them. Make John Edwards(remember him?) look like a choir boy. Spread the findings out over the last 2 months of the election season.
The Ministry of Propaganda has not been pursuing the truth for decades.
These people are scary. Rule of law be damned. Given total power, does anyone doubt that these monsters would set up concentration camps?
Trump is not perfect, but the Lord has a pattern of picking imperfect people to carry out his will.

I'd like to find out if there is a written transcript of Saturday night's show. It was, as I said, stunningly terrific and gave information NO MSM outlet gave. And I know Klein meticulously researches his writing.

It’s long been said that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. Just as often, though, if you repeat a lie often enough, people just get sick of hearing it.
It’s becoming that way with the Left’s continuous assaults on Donald Trump. More and more people are getting sick of the increasingly ridiculous witch hunt the Democrats are engaged in.

This is the number one reason I do not believe the current set of polls showing Biden ahead.
Since Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower in June 2015 to announce his candidacy, they have gone completely off the deep end.
No lie is too great, no truth that exonerates Pres. Trump is allowed, no facts that are neutral.

I really do feel that they have their thumb on the butcher’s scale of national and state polling regarding the president.
I have a very strong suspicion that the “Jour-No-List” still exists, with prominent media people and democrat operatives, conspiring to steal the election through fake polls and mail-in ballots.

Good article, Very few journalists seem upset that 90% of the media is giving them a bad name. Kimberley is one of the 10% that remain actual journalists.
