The power to tax is the power to destroy. This is why churches are tax exempt. Beto needs to read the Constitution the part about freedom of religion, it does not say freedom of religion that we approve of.

Exactly - even the tax exemption law states that it doesn’t apply to the Church.

That whole “separation of Church and State” statement they love to throw around actually goes both ways (yes, it’s not in the Constitution but still goes against their argument). The State has no authority over the teachings of the Church and has no right to tax it to death if it disapproves.

We have done a 180 degree turnabout regarding taxation. It is not the burden of an entity to prove it should be tax-exempt. It is the burden of the government to prove why a particular entity should be taxed. The right to tax is not inherent in government or the Constitution. Until we challenge this and stop relying on 501(c) “permission”, churches are always going to be vulnerable.
